Last night, I went to Bay 101 and I didn't even have to play poker. I was hitting every set left and right. It was so ridiculous that...I don't even want to talk about it.
+ $600
Usually, I stick to $11+1 Turbo SNGs but after getting destroyed playing on PokerStars (which I have sworn off forever because I'm 0-200000 in tournaments on that site) decided to play a $22+2 SNG.
I floated around for a while and got super lucky on an all-in hand where I had AQ vs AK and the board put up 2 pairs for a nice surprise chop. I was already getting ready to close the window.
Later on in that tournament (4 handed), I made a call from the BB with 4 5 (blinds 150/300) to a button raise for $660 total. The SB folded. Flop comes 467 and I put out a bet and Button goes All-in for about $1500 more. He shows J7 of all cards. I guess I shouldn't have even made that preflop call if I wasn't ready to call a flop like that.
3 handed, I was pretty short stacked at just about $1600 when the other two stacks went at it.
AJ vs J8. Needless to say, the guy wtih J8 (the big stack) hits runner runner for an inside straight and makes me just a little richer.
When heads up started, the chip count was something like 12,000 - 1500 and he was the worst heads-up player ever. I destroyed him like I destroy Alan Sun. In fact, I'm gonna email him to chnage his name to ALAN SUN. So I can find him and beat him heads-up all day long.

Cash Count from last two sessions: $1075

Funny thing is I knew I was gonna lose this hand once I had 1000 callers. And I knew I was gonna go broke if I hit my ace. So I exercised some self control and just checked the river down. These guys arent good enough to let go of hands with the low end of the straight. BLEH

I didn't sleep last night.
It's 7:20 AM, and since I'm not sleeping and I have yet to sleep, that can only mean one thing!
I went to Barona alone after bowling last night to satiate my thirst for action. I was driving home and just kept going....all the way to the casino.
Anyways, things started off like crap. As I was waiting for the $1/$3 NLH to open up, I decided to brush up on some limit skills. Unfortunately, I forgot how different and terrible that game can be. I immediately lost $70 in the first few minutes. I dont think I even made it one round before getting the call to the $1/$3. I couldn't pick up my chips fast enough.
So I sit with a bunch of donkeys, and only have $130 instead of $200. DO NOT PLAY OTHER GAMES WHILE YOU WAIT FOR YOURS!!!!!!
and I'm dealt AKh. I raised it to $12 and got 2 callers. Flop came A junk junk. I bet $24 and got 2 callers. Turn came more junk. I bet $50 and got 1 call. Turn paired the junk and I went all in thinking "Damn this was a short night." To my delight, he calls and turns over AJ.
Later, I got AKc so I raise it up to $12 and the second caller from the first hand (who is very loose) looks like he wants to raise. So I look at him and say "Don't you wanna gamble?" because he said that to the guy he played in the previous hand and made a call. So having had his pride tested, he goes all in for $150 and I instantly call. AJ again! Needless to say, I flop a K and its game over for him.
I played some more good hands and got all the way up to about $950 before hitting a really dry spell. Then I turned into a freaking donkey/fish/noob.
The play went from a full table to 5 handed, so the quality of hands I was playing obviously went down a little.
Mid position raise to $15 by some guy who is a solid player from what I can tell, I call from the SB with K10h.
Flop comes Js10d9d. I check, he bets $20 and I call thinking I have lots of outs and lots of ways to steal the pot.
Turn comes Qd, so I check again and he bets out $30 and I call again thinking my straight might be good right now.
River comes Ad. He bets $80 and I think loooong and hard about it.
I couldn't put him on a hand, but in my head I just wanted him to not have a diamond at all.
Needless to say, after about 2 minutes, I finally call and he flips over J8d for a straight flush.
There are many ways I could have played this pot. I supposed I didnt lose the MOST money I could have lost, but I also could have easily laid that hand down and not thought about it twice. But because I wanted to make a "Hero Call," I lost a big chunk of my stack for nothing.
Later I lost to a guy when he went was making small bets through a pot where he had AQ and i had Q2d out of the bb and flopped a Q with a diamond draw. He went all in on the turn for what didnt look like much when I insta-called him, but it turned out to be $100. That hurt.
In the end, I played from 1230am-630am.
Started with: $200
4-8 Limit: -$70
1-3 NLH: $545
Total proft this morning of: $475
and now it'd bedtime.

3 SNGs and a Home Game
First, the AQ I laid down. There were a few contributing factors at this point in the tournament.
1. Four-handed, I felt like I could out play them for the victory.
2. At the cutoff, there was one pretty short stack ($1345 @ 100/200 blinds) and I wanted to make the money first since mere victories are not all I'm aiming for with these SNGs.
3. That guy was SUUUUUUPER tight and sometimes, you just get that feeling. I thought AA KK or AK for sure.
4. I have X-ray vision. Looking back at it, it should have been a really tough lay down or I should have called. But in the moment, I felt it and just folded.
Today:
I played 3 different $11+1 SNGs on Fulltilt today.
9th place, 3rd place, and 1st place.
More importantly though, I raped a $5 home game at Bern's place. It ended up just being me, Alan, and Andy Kang at the end. And it was never all that close. I miss these things. =)
end FT Roll: $336.48
It seems like my roll isn't really moving anywhere, but I should have more time to focus when I get back to Taunton.
P.S. I own Alan so bad. It's not even funny.
GG Alan =)

Just bought into Pokerstars today for $100. I was tempted to take it out of my regular checking (starting a separate roll) but changed my mind and am just using my current roll (like a smart person would).
So far I'm not really feeling the graphics. It feels cluttered. I'm sure I will get used to it quickly.
This hand is epitomizes the reason that we play poker against noobs and quit poker because of them.

Oh, I'm lucky. Doubled up to $2600 on a guy who I thought was just trying to steal my BB. I reraised him Q10s and he called me down quickly with JJ. I flopped a Q and dodged some backdoor straight and flush draws he had.
And...I officially suck.
Started at $101.41
Now at $69.41 after two retarded losses in $15+1 SNGs.

If I don't cash in this SNG....
I vow to never play at work again.
You know you're gonna have to bankroll me if I don't make enough, Kenny. So be prepared to make 3k and buy me into some satellite SNGs.
Starting: $235.68
I'm taking Kenny's advice and playing a regular speed 9 person SNG $10+1.
Let's see if I remember how to run these like the old Party Poker days.
Hand 1. Folded AJ to a mid position raise. Easy fold for you noobies out there (Alan, I'm talking to you!).
For some reason, I just remembered a conversation involving me, Kenny, and some other kid at Sycuan many years back about raising UTG with small suited connectors. Probably wouldn't recommend use of that strategy early in a SNG, but in a ring game you can take bigger risks with your chips. Of course if you hit, its one of those ninja hands that nobody will put you on.
10 hands in and nothing to report. zzzz.
24 hands in and nobody has busted out and there's only been one all-in bet by a short stack.
34 hands in one person out nothing new on my part (blinds are 50/100 now)

I knew I had the first guy beat and I figured the other guys for hands with a couple over cards. Still, its a good thing i didnt go crazy and shove in all my chips to isolate the guy. There is no doubt i would have been insta-called by the 44.
Time to start stealing blinds to get myself back into the game.
AKs and nobody calls. That kinda stuff kills me. I guess a sure win is better than a risky double up sometimes.
I overbet this pot hoping someone had a big flush draw, but again, no callers...

I think this was a good check on the flop by me (even if its terrible to go all in on a draw). I was going to call anything no matter what with a draw like that (and my short stack) and I figured he was going to bet regardless of if he hit or not.
Played solid poker got some decent cards and took down first in this one for $45, netting $34.
Not exactly a huge payday, but im back in the win column!
$269.68
also, juggling customers/paper work and poker is not smart.
*EDIT*
Back at home to see if this $10+1 win was just a fluke...but mostly cuz I'm addicted to poker.
Somehow, I ended up committing 90 chips on the first hand with 66 on the button. I called 30, someone doubled, so I called, and then someone else made it 3 bets. It was like I was playing limit and got suckered into it.
5 pocket pairs in 20 hands and not one hit to capitalize on.
Bleh, nothing ever came my way. Finished third for a net of $7. What a waste.

Roll:
$276.68

currently playing a $11+1, 6 handed turbo SNG.
AT WORK!
im pretty sure this isnt the smartest thing to do...but hey, its keeping me awake (kinda).
ive been playing super tight early on in these, not making many raises with anything less than 10 10 till the blinds get really high or ive come up with a good sized stack.
820 chips left on a super aggressive table and i cant catch a hand for the life of me!!!!
640 chips left UTG, all-in with 99! they folded. moral (and first) victory, i suppose.
unfortunately, i have to wait for hands because theres like 4 maniacs on the table out of 6 people!
just saw a guy push someone all in with 3 5 from UTG, next guy called with AJs and hand comes 3 8 5, 4, 5. awesome. he was the only non-maniac at the table.
blinds are 50/100
all in with 660 from the SB with A 8. Cool! A 5 K 5 8. except...that same guy called my all-in with 5 4.
gotta love this bs.
.
second try at the same game:
survived an all-in with QQ. short stack went all in for 315 big stack reraises all in. i figure i have the best hand cuz hes so eager to get isolated and i call. K-9, 99, vs my QQ. short stack hits a K, but i still make out with 1600.
AK in sb. 40/80 blinds. and..i lose.
everyone folds around to me. i raise the pot. bb calls. flops A 9 J. i bet the pot which is 480. he reraises all in for about the same as i have left. i call. he has A9. awesome.

Poker Blog!
For the two people who might possibly read this: Kenny and Shawn...maybe Alan
I decided I might start up a poker blog today just for my own reference and to vent about retarded things that happen on online poker.
Maybe you guys can tell me what you think about my play!
So here's where my roll stands as of this moment:
$259.69
It was a decent amount over $300 a couple days ago, but I gave Shawn $12 and lost 3 straight SNG's to guys who had a total of less than 10 outs between them. Terrrrrribad.
So here's to trying to keep this up.
*EDIT*
here's my last 8 SNG results. Those 2 outers are a killer when you get on a decent streak. It makes you feel like only bad things happen. And when you feel like like you're gonna get sucked out on, it happens. I don't know how, but it does.
